Los Banos Police, Fire & Code Enforcement Officers are teaming together throughout the year to enforce State and Local laws pertaining to Dangerous and Illegal fireworks, as well as Safe & Sane Fireworks violations.

Dangerous and Illegal Fireworks are defined as any fireworks device that explodes or leaves the ground or does not display the State Fire Marshals Safe & Sane seal that is pictured here. All violations issued for Dangerous and Illegal fireworks will be subject to a minimum of $1,250.00 fine for each and every violation.

Safe & Sane Fireworks are legal within the City of Los Banos, however they, are illegal in unincorporated areas of Merced County. Violations of Safe & Sane Fireworks laws are subject to a minimum of $50.00 fine and include, but are not limited to:

1. It is unlawful for individuals under eighteen years of age to sell, purchase, or possess, "Safe and Sane Fireworks."
2. It shall be unlawful to discharge any "Safe and Sane Fireworks" except from the first day
    of July to the fourth day of July during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
3. It shall be unlawful to ignite or otherwise use any "Safe and Sane Fireworks," or permit the
    discharge thereof, upon, over, or onto the property of another without his/her consent.
4. It shall be unlawful to discharge any "Safe and Sane Fireworks" except on private property
    and as otherwise provided in this chapter. No fireworks shall be discharged on public,
    semipublic, or private open areas such as parking lots, vacant properties, or in a public street
    or right-of-way, or in public parks.

Los departamentos de bomberos, policía, y código de la ciudad de Los Banos están en conjunto para aplicar las leyes locales y estatales relacionadas con el uso de fuegos artificiales, peligrosos e ilegales, asi como violaciones de Safe & Safe Fireworks.

Los fuegos artificiales peligrosos e ilegales son definidos como cualquier dispositivo de fuegos pirotecnicos que estalla, despliega, ó no esta aprovado por el sello del State Fire Marshals Safe & Sane, aqui presente. Toda infracción expedida por motivo de fuegos artificiales, peligrosos e ilegales estará sujeta a una multa de hasta minimo de $1,250.00 por cada violación.

Los fuegos artificiales de Safe & Sane Fireworks estan permitidos dentro de los limites de la ciudad, sin embargo, son ilegales en areas no incorporadas al condado de Merced. Violaciones de fuegos artificiales de Safe & Sane Fireworks estarán sujetas a multas de hasta minimo de $50.00 por violación. Las violaciones incluyen pero no se limitan a:

3. Es ilegal el encender ó detonar, ó permitir el uso de fuegos artificiales de Safe & Sane Fireworks en la propiedad de otros sin tal consentimiento.
4. Es ilegal el encender ó detonar cualquier fuego artificial de Safe & Sane Fireworks en otro lugar que no sea sù propiedad privada. Es ilegal el encender ó detonar fuegos artificiales en: areas publicas, semipublicas, zonas abiertas que son privadas como estacionamientos, lotes, propiedades vacantes, calles publicas, callejones y parques.

If everyone in Los Banos would just take 1 or 2 hours a month to do something to help their neighborhood or their community we could truly make Los Banos the gem of the valley.
