Los Banos California and the surrounding area is crisscrossed with all sorts of canals and irrigation water delivery supply systems. While these canals are very dangerous and swimming is prohibited, there are still some recreational opportunities available in the form of fishing off of the banks. It is also a natural place to go to watch birds that frequently nest along the banks and swim or feed in the water.
