The Henry Miller Wild West Weekend invited participants, vendors, and people manning information booths to really "get into it" by dressing up in period clothing and dressing up their booths to look like they were from the 1800s. OurLosBanos.com was happy to be able to participate in this event and we really got into it. We decided to create a telegraph office!

Here you can see the OurLosBanos.com information booth. When we were trying to determine what sort of theme we would decorate our booth with we tried to determine what would be the closest tie to what we do. OurLosBanos.com is a local community information center where you can get info about the town and transmit information via our forums and bulletin boards to other people.

The closest thing we could come up with was the idea of a telegraph office. Telegraphy in the 1800s was sort of the leading edge of communications technology and while the Internet is not quite that it is akin to it. Nothe: The equipment is real. From the cast iron pot bellied stove, to the hand crank phone, to the Olliver typewriter and the real 1800s telegraph equipment.

We were VERY proud to win the "Best Informational Booth Decorating Contest"!!!
