This photograph was taken of the new Home Depot on Pacheco Blvd and Ward Road in Los Banos Ca. This big box hardware store was finally completed in 2007 and directly competes with a Lowe's Home Improvement Center which is just up the road on Pacheco and Ortigalita.

The opening of Home Depot and Lowes was considered a blessing by some and a curse by others.

The Los Banos Lumber and Sales Ace Hardware store which was at 531 Mercy Springs Road went out of business this year in September.

Still many people are now very pleased not to have to drive either over the hill to Gilroy or all the way to Turlock or Merced to get building supplies and materials.

In addition to Home Depot and Lowes there is Sorenson's True Value Hardware which is just off of Center Street at 402 Washington Avenue. There is also Soares Lumber and fence at 1218 D Street. They have a nice little Nursery and rockery. Marfab at 1025 I street also sells hardware and welding supplies. Fastenal Construction Supplies at 85 West G Street is also an option.
