Just inside one of the entry doors Milliken Museum in Los Banos California visitors are presented with a wall full of.. well ALL KINDS of treasures!

In this photo you can see all kinds of things. Note the duck decoy on the high shelf. For as long as anyone can remember, Los Banos has been home to traveling hunters looking for a place to bag ducks. This old wooden decoy is one of thousands that have bobbed in the waters near Los Banos.

The placard is full of samples of barbed wire. In the old west barbed wire was very important to the well being of ranchers and farmers and though it was resisted at first by the free-ranger type cowboys it eventually became a staple of the western experience. Many companies produced many kinds of barbed wire and this placard shows a number of them.

Other things that you can see in this photo include what looks like a very large hack saw, horse bridle bits, horseshoes, leg catch traps also known as spring traps, spurs, scales, what appears to be a barn pulley, a cowbell, an old soldering torch, a pair of locks, a number of branding irons, an old anvil, and more.

As you can see the Milliken Museum packs a lot in for being such a small place.
