A family of 6 quail browse and scratch for food at the Medeiros portion of the San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area (near Los Banos). You can find lots of interesting birds in the Los Banos area, in fact the many natural recreational areas around Los Banos California are said to be a place where birdwatchers can see some rare species on a fairly regular basis. here is another picture of a Quail in the same area.
