Los Banos California has a large Portuguese influence. Many of the citizens of our city can trace their roots back to Portugal itself and many are very adept at keeping their culture alive.

The DES Hall is located on I street was built in 1937 and plays hosts to numerous festivals and events. Not only does the DES Association host the well known and highly loved Portuguese Festa each year, but they also host an Italian Festival and more.

For those of you who are curious the initials stand for Divino Espritu Santo or Divine Holy Spirit.
