Los Banos California retains a small town feel because of the many shops and older buildings that make up our downtown area. Here you can see the Old Bank of America building and the Miller Lux building. Despite the fact that BofA has moved across the street, the old edifice has been spared demolition. If you visit look for the Marchoni plaque on the side of the building.

Unlike so many towns that have lost their feel due to the wrecking ball, parking meters and "modernization efforts", Los Banos Ca. has retained its own sense of history and celebrates its links to the past. Just beyond these buildings is Henry Miller Square where a truly old fashioned statue of Henry Miller was placed in the mid 2000's.

Henry Miller Plaza has become Los Banos's living room so to speak. Community events of all kinds such as the Centennial Celebrations and Movie nights have occurred there.
