The following text is from the owner of OurLosBanos.com:

I just had to say something about this one. Who in their right mind would rip off a piece of equipment like this from a public safety organization that might use it to protect YOU and your family in the event of a fire. Thermal imagers of this type are useful for one thing and that is rescuing people in smoke filled rooms and other dangerous environments.

If you know who ripped this off PLEASE do drop a dime on them and get this equipment back in the hands of the Los Banos Fire Department where it belongs. This device belongs on a fire truck waiting to save lives.

While it looks like a fun toy, it is far more valuable to your family should YOUR house be the next one that the fire department has to roll to. In the hands of people who will use this imager to pull you or your family members out of a burning structure before they are either burned to death or asphyxiated this device could be a life saver. Let's get it back.

Have you checked the Child Molesters & Sex Offender Registrants list recently?

You owe it to your children and to the community to be aware of these people!

We STRONGLY recommend that you use the link below and go to the Megan's Law Sex Registrant Website. When you visit you should do the ZIPCODE SEARCH using zipcode 93635 so that you can see ALL of the registrants in Los Banos and NOT just those who are required to make public their actual street address. It is much more complete if you use the zipcode option. The site will show you photographs and map coordinates for registered offenders and it will give you some details on their offense usually using penal code numbers which can be looked up here.

By the way do you know that the Los Banos Police Department has an online reporting tool where you can report crimes that do not need officer assistance and are NOT emergencies?

Using this online citizen police report system allows you to submit a report immediately and print a copy of the police report for free. You might consider using the tool if the incident you are reporting is: 1) NOT an Emergency 2) The incident occurred within the Los Banos City limits 3) There are no known suspects or leads. 4) There is no need to speak with an officer or follow-up necessary. 5) This did not occur on a State Freeway.

It is an ideal place to report graffiti.
