Bible
Based Spelling Lessons Thirty-five spelling units for primary learners
based on the Bible. Each unit has a list of words that are presented in different
categories as well as exercises you can print out. Approximate grade levels K-3
based on your child's spelling ability.

ICT
Games A wonderful site
with a great selection of free interactive educational games. Most of the games
are most suitable for young learners up through very early elementary. Scroll
down the page to the literacy games.
 Montessori
Language Materials Lots of printables for early learners -well worth taking
a look. You will find printables for classifying, phonics, spelling, punctuation,
alphabet, papers (for printing on and cutting), grammar and much more. An excellent
resource for the early learner. Some of the materials could also be used for early
elementary.
Musical
Spelling Rules A collection of spelling rule songs with music you can
listen to online and download to hear anytime. The format of the page is kind
of annoying, but it's worth a stop for the songs. One of our children learned
and practiced a spelling rule from this site. OWL
Handouts for Grammar, Punctuation, and Spelling Lots of free, printable
handouts and exercises.
Scripps
National Spelling Bee Study Aids Download free study aids for the Scripps
National Spelling Bee. There is also an audio Paideia (spelling words list). Spelling
it Right " Learn to spell confidently with help, exercises and advice
from an experienced teacher." The lessons are not in the best format to print,
but useful for elementary students. The lessons cover some major rules and are
easy to follow. Spelling
Lists A complete year's worth of spelling words for grades K-8. Why buy
a spelling book, when you can get the words for free? You will have to come up
with your own activities though.
 Spell
the Fruits and Vegetables This site has some FREE software
for spelling fruits and veggies. Although it was made for special needs children,
younger spellers might enjoy it. Parents teaching children from a very early learning
perspective also might enjoy using it with their babies (our son could read at
eleven months).
******************************* The
Internet changes daily so you never know if a site that is here today might be
"gone" tomorrow. We suggest you save materials you want to use in the
future to your hard drive (if
it doesn't interfere with the copyright). Also, we can't predict what might change
on a site or what advertising might be present. Surf at your own risk! Please
report any bad links to me (or inappropriate materials
and / or advertising)! P.S.
Some of the links have stuff that is good, fun, informative, etc. for mom too,
not just the kids! |
