Most homeschoolers have to take an official test at some point or another. Those who are college bound really don't have much of a choice. So what to do? Get some test-prep materials and PREPARE!

We were at a homeschooling conference listening to Susan Wise Bauer (the author of The Well Trained Mind as well as The Story of the World) and she recommended starting to study for the SAT an hour a day 3 times a week beginning in the 10th grade.

I certainly can't hurt if you are going the "traditional" route into college.

It doesn't seem fair that kids are judged by these test scores that don't really measure what they truly know...but that's the subject for a nice long vent that I'll skip for now.
