Submit your CVHS or homeschool event for inclusion on the calendar!

Park Day! Every Wednesday - 10 AM - Mothers and children of all ages meet in the park to chat and let their kids play. Children of all ages are welcome from infant to seventeen. Click here for more information.

Meetings are every Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church.

*Please note, I have included activities that are not just specific to CVHS members. I have also listed some activities for Connecting Waters students and other events that might be interesting to homeschoolers or families in general.


Oct. 2 -Monterey Bay Aquarium Trip. Arrive by 9:30. Admission is free for the CVHS group and Connecting Waters students.

Oct. 9 -Connecting Waters Students: Pumpkin Maze and Activities!
Lathrop, 10:00 am
Cost: $5.00 per person (age 1+)
Includes: Corn Maze, Tram Ride, Train Ride, Kiddie Land, Hayride, Speedway, Hay Pyramid, Petting Zoo
Optional Extras (cost not included): Pony Rides (cost not known) Pumpkin Blaster ($5 bucket) Click here for registration instructions.

Oct. 13 -CVHS P.E. in the Park from 1pm to 2:30pm at the Snow Goose park on the right hand side. Not the newest park on Snow Goose road but the first one (Meadowlands 2). If you can, bring the following items: basket ball, soccer ball, roller blades, bikes, jump ropes.

Oct. 15 -This is the last day to submit your items to the CVHS newsletter for the Kid's Corner & Parent's Corner section.

This is where children and parents can share information with the CVHS group. Feel free to share accomplishments, awards, favorite poems, articles, stories, words of encouragement, etc. Please email your submissions to Penny Delgado no later than the 15th of the month to ensure it gets into the next month's newsletter.

Oct. 17 - CVHS: Discovery Center in Fresno field trip.
The following classes will be offered: Blood & Guts (Health Science), Spaced Out (Astronomy), Ocean Life (Life Science)". Please email Mel. Tung on the CVHS list for details, pricing and to RSVP.

Oct. 18 -The PSAT test is today if you registered to take it on Wednesday.

Oct. 21 -The PSAT test is today if you registered to take it on Saturday.

Oct 21 - The Livermore National Lab is holding a "Got Science? Discover Science Saturday"--a family event that highlights science and technology. The event is free. It's from from 10am sharp to 2pm at the Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Avenue, in Livermore (take the South Vasco Road exit off I-580-- stay on Vasco until you get to East Avenue) More info? : 925-422-4599

Oct. 25 - Connecting Waters: IMAX trip (You must have pre-registered in September.)
2 Shows: Everest and Journey into Amazing Caves
Date: Wednesday, October 25, 2006
Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Cost: $13 per student
Contact Person: Tamara Monroe at Connecting Waters

October 27 - 29 - Harvest Festival Fund Raiser at the Stevinson Equestrian Center.
There is no admission fee, but there is a $2.00 on site parking fee.
Activity tickets are $1.00 each, concert on Saturday is a separate admission of $15.00 with children 12 and under FREE.
Each day: Horse and pony rides, jump house, games, children's haunted house, pumpkins and prizes, food and beverage vendors.
Friday: 5:00-6:00 p.m.. karaoke contest
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. scavenger hunt, 1:00 p.m. pumpkin painting contest, 3:00-6:00 p.m. concert by "Ventura Highway" - music of the 70's (Eagles, Credence and more)
Sunday: 2:00 p.m. kids costume contest
*NO alcoholic beverages allowed

Oct. 29 - CVHS: Some of us are taking a tour of Herbert Family Organic Farm (strawberry picking for the kids) and Hain's chicken operation followed by a visit to Paicines Ranch beef operation, and ending the day with a picnic. More details coming soon. Please RSVP with Mileni.

Oct. 31 - Harvest party at the co-op!
We will be having a pumpkin contest with winners for each grade. Every child will recieve a participant award. We will also have a costume parade as well as birthday day for co-op. There will be Harvest Crafts available for 1.00 per craft. Oriental Trading stuff).
