The annual fall cleanup event will be
Saturday Oct. 9, 2010, 7 am - 2 pm at
Ranchwood Park and the
Merced County Spring Fairground parking lot on F. St.
You may bring your excess waste that doesn't fit in your trash cart for free disposal.
We will accept tires (9 max), and green waste should be separated from other waste.
Electronic waste such as TVs, computers, computer parts, game systems, car and truck batteries, will be accepted at the Fairgrounds location only.
Los Banos lead the way in Merced County by holding the first community reuse event at the spring clean up event and we sent nearly 20,000 lbs for reuse! That's ten tons from landfill. Local charity organizations will again be at the fairgrounds to accept clothing, shoes, furniture, toys, books, utensils, cookware and other gently used reusable items. Please note donations accepted on day of event are for collection purposes only. Please see the tips on the reverse side for more information HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED Automotive paint, paint thinner, and motor oil will not be collected at the event.

If you have usable items in good

October 21 - Great American Shake Out

October 22 - On Friday, October 22, 2010, Quote Your Pulse Records will be hosting an all-ages concert at the new Community Center in Los Banos. It will be the first concert ever at the new venue. The show will feature bands from Los Banos, Dos Palos, Santa Nella, and Hilmar and will be the cd release show for Quote Your Pulse Records artist Every Atlas. The other bands playing the show are Asiago, First Was Chaos, Colton Saylor, The Great West End, and Main Street Panic. The show starts at 7pm and will be a great way for the community to come out and support local music. If all goes as planned and with enough support from the community, this will be the first concert of many more to come at this venue. We hope to provide the youth of Merced County with a positive alternative.

October 29 - Join us October 29th, 2010 at 10:30 am in Room B107 for a free Personal Emergency Preparedness lecture at the Los Banos Campus by David Ofwono, Emergency Preparedness Specialist and Director of First On Compliance Inc. The lecture will last approximately one hour. Mr. Ofwono is a State certified Hazardous Materials Specialist/Instructor, a Department of Homeland Security Instructor a FEMA master Instructor and a member of FEMA Urban Search & Rescue CA Task Force Three.
