May 6 - On Thursday May 6 at 7:00 PM the Los Banos Tea Party will host Susan Coston, Candidate for Merced County Superintendent of Schools at their monthly meeting. Susan will discuss the state of the schools and her plans to improve education in Merced County.

May 15 - The time has come again for Model Search for 2010 Fashion In Winterland Runway Show. We are seeking models ages 5-25 years of age.  This year's show will have ONLY 3 mandatory rehearsals dates prior to the Show. Designers will begin designing the clothing in June and July. You have three (3) dates in which to choose to attend the audition.  Please bring a photo and have name, size, & age on the back of the photo.  Please tell all of your friends & family about the auditions.  Please contact me via email if additional information is needed.

May 15: Fishing and Fun Day

8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon 

Los Banos:  Fun will be the "catch of the day" on Saturday, May 15th at San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area.  The 21st Annual Kids' Fishing and Fun Day, hosted by the Department of Water Resources and California State Parks staff and volunteers, will be held at San Luis Creek on the O'Neill Forebay.  Bring the family and your fishing poles and enjoy a morning of fishing on the 'lake'.
Children ages 3 to 15 may sign in from 8:00 a.m. on.  Free bait is provided.  Also, each participant will receive a free lunch and other goodies.  There will be free pontoon boat rides (weather permitting).  Plus, kids may try 'gyotaku' the Japanese art of fish printing. Merchandise donated by Water Resources, Wal-Mart, and other local businesses will also be awarded as door prizes, starting at noon.  The only cost is the $10 state park Day Use Fee per car.  Besides your fishing poles, you may also want to bring sunscreen, folding chairs, and a camera.
To request a sign language interpreter or other auxiliary aids or services for people with disabilities, please contact Jennifer Morgan at (209) 827-5353 at least one week in advance.
This special recreation program is sponsored by California's Department of Water Resources, State Parks, and donations.  It marks the occasion of the annual May is "Water Awareness Month".  To reach the San Luis Creek area, take the San Luis Creek turn-off from Hwy. 152 at the O'Neill Forebay, and follow the signs.  (It is on the north side of Hwy. 152, 7 miles west of Hwy. 5.) May 15 - "On Saturday, May 15th the band will be holding it's annual silent auction entitled "Spring Into Love". They are trying to raise funds to pay for their bills for the rest of the year and hopefully to start off next year as well. The Los Banos High School jazz band will be providing the music under the direction of Mr. Brand their band director. It should be an exciting evening filled with great food and plenty of surprises. The silent auction is one of their biggest fund raisers and hopefully they will reach their target amount of $6.000. We hope that you'll come out and support the band.
