Vacation Bible School will be held at Calvary Baptist Church from 6 p.m. to 8:30
p.m. each day. All children from grades K-6th grade are invited to attend. The

5 - Elk's Lodge Chicken Dinner Drive-Thru fundraiser for Cadynlee will
be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. August 5 - The first Wednesday
of each month is the regular dinner meeting night of the Los Banos Sportsmen’s
Association. Guests are welcome. August 6 - John Garcia
Memorial Dinner will be held at Espana's in the banquet room. Tickets are $100
each and include a gourmet dinner, a no-host open bar and 4 raffle tickets. The
dinner is to raise funds for an annual $500 scholarship. For more information

Chat will be held at Westside Union Elementary Gymnasiaum from 6 to 8 p.m. The
2009 Healthy Air Living Chats are FREE, two-hour, evening events geared at bringing
Valley residents together to learn about the simple things we all can do to improve
air quality in the Valley. The 2009 Chats will bring new ideas, innovative tools
and great opportunities for you and your community. Children are welcome
and light refreshments will be provided. August 6 -The
Community Prayer Group is a non denominational group of people of faith from many
different congregations who meet on the first Thursday of each month at 1PM. The

7-8 - United Methodist Rummage Sale will be held in the church's Fellowship

Wine Stroll from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be 8-12 "wineries" with music,

8 - Ham Radio Club Meeting will be held at the Police Annex Building
across from City Hall. 7PM. May be precluded from time to time because of
special events or 'pizza meetings' and 'fox-hunts'. August 10
- LB High Annual Tiger Prowl Seniors will attend Tiger Prowl on August
12 between 8 am – 10 am, according to the first letter of their last name.
Freshmen will attend Tiger Prowl on August 12 between 10 am –
3 pm, according to the first letter of their last name. Sophomores,
all of whom will take a hearing test when they attend Tiger Prowl, will do so
on August 13 between 8 am – 11 am, according to the first letter of their
last name. Juniors will attend Tiger Prowl on August 13 between
12 pm – 3 pm, according to the first letter of their last name. LBHS dress
code will be strictly enforced. Students must bring their yellow emergency
card, completed and signed by a parent/guardian, included in their Tiger Prowl
packets to attend Tiger Prowl. Although all packets have been mailed, if a family
has not received their Tiger Prowl packet by Friday, July 31, they should stop
by LBHS and pick one up between the hours of 7:30 am – 12:30 pm before August
12. The following items may be purchased, cash or
money order only, at Station 3 of Tiger Prowl: ASB stickers
- $20; parking permit - $2 (a second/replacement parking permit will be subject
to a $10 processing fee, a third/replacement parking permit will be subject to
a $20 processing fee); PE & athletic clothing - $20; Video Yearbook - $10;
Yearbook - $70; and receive information about riding the rooter’s bus to
one of the five away varsity football games this year. The Band Foundation will
be available for band students to purchase their band t-shirts - $15; band shoes
- $35; band gloves - $5; and uniform cleaning - $10. The first day of
school is Friday, August 21. It will be a regular school day, with first period
beginning at 8:10 am, and sixth period ending at 3:21 pm. August
10 - Pacheco Pass Quilters meets at 7 p.m. at 5th and K Streets. Doors

Point Man Ministries is a non-profit, Christ-centered group of Veterans from all
wars.There is group and private counseling for PTSD related problems, literature,
seminars, companionship, and comfort. Help with VA contacts, forming a Honor Guard,
educational information for the public on service related problems concerning
Veterans. And working with other Veterans organizations for the betterment of
