January 21 - The Kente Women's Club will hold a rally and march starting at at 10:30 AM at City Hall Monday, at City Hall, 520 J St. This march will conclude at First Baptist Church located on D Street where there will be another ceremony in honor of Martin Luther King.

January 21- Los Banos Elks Annual Crab Crack Cocktails are at 6:00 pm. Dinner starts at 7:00 pm. Dinner includes all the crab you can eat, linguini with clam sauce, a delicious shrimp salad and bread. You get all this delicious food for only 35.00.

January 23-26 Our Lady of Fatma School basketball tournament held at the Los Banos Fairgrounds. All games Wed - Fri are from 4-7pm. There is a full service snack bar with great food. A raffle is held every evening during each game and you get to enjoy the Pee Wee Cheerleaders perform everyday at 6pm. There will be a tri tip drive thru on Wednesday from 4-7pm. For ticket information please contact Christine Kinsley @ 631-4049. Saturday games begin at 8:30AM with the same great food and raffle during each game. There is a free throw contest and a two ball contest on Saturday at 11:30a.m. for the teams that are participating in the tournament. It's a week filled with lots of fun.

January 26 - 2008 Dog licensing and vaccination clinic will take place at the Scout hut behind Milliken Museum (905 Pacheco Blvd.) from 9 AM - 1 PM. A License costs $12 for a fertile dog or $6 for a spayed or nuetered animal (please present a certificate from a veterinarian). License fees double on February 1st. 2008.

January 26-27 - MOUNT DIABLO AUDUBON SOCIETY Event: Los Baños/Panoche Valley Organization: Sequoia Audubon Location: Los Baños Area Refuges and Panoche Valley Date/Time: Saturday and Sunday January 26 & 27, 2008 9:00 AM till dark Description: Winter is a really great time of year to visit the central valley. Waterfowl are abundant. We will be on the lookout for White-faced Ibis, Sandhill Cranes, and a large variety of waterfowl, geese, shorebirds, ducks, raptors and owls. Bring lunch, fluids, binoculars, scopes if you have them, cameras and lots of birding energy! Come for one day only, or both days. Day one will be at the Los Banos Area Refuges, Day 2 will be in Panoche Valley area. Directions: Meet each morning at the McDonald's parking lot in Santa Nella at 9:00 am. Take Hwy 152 toward Pacheco Pass and go past the San Luis Reservoir and O'Neill Forebay. Go (north) on Hwy 33 toward Gustine and Santa Nella. McDonald's is at the intersection of Hwy 33 and Henry Miller Rd. in Santa Nella. Trip reservations are requested so we will know how many to expect. January 27-Feb 1 - CATHOLIC SCHOOLS' WEEK This is a week set aside to celebrate all catholic schools around the nation. This year's theme is "CATHOLIC SCHOOLS LIGHT THE WAY". We begin the week by celebrating mass at 11:00am on Sunday the 27th at Saint Joseph's Church in Los Banos, followed by an Open House opened for everyone. Class rooms will close at 1:30pm. 28 January is Grandparents' Day 29 January is Parents' Day 30 January 8:00-3:00 is Community Day - We welcome members of the community to come meet the PreK - 8th grade Teachers, visit the classrooms and learn about the quality education OLF offers. PreK - Eighth Grade pre-registrations are now being accepted for the 2008-09 term.
