August 7 - The Community Prayer Group is a non denominational group of people of faith from many different congregations who meet on the first Thursday of each month at 1PM. August 9th - AMP MX Top Gun Summercross Series at the Los Banos fairgrounds Gates open at 12 p.m., practice starts at 2:30 p.m. and racing starts at 4 p.m.

August 11 - OLF 7th & 8th grades will be holding a chicken drive through dinner on Monday, August 11th as a fund raiser for their Washington D.C. Trip. The tickets are $22 for dinner for 4 and include a whole chicken, pint of rice, pint of beans, pico de gallo, and homemade corn tortillas.

August 12 - Los Banos Community 4-H meets at the Henry Miller Elementary School cafeteria at 7 PM. Call Debbie at 387-9707.

August 12 - Parent Talk a support group for parents of children with every kind of disability meets every second Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 250 West Adams from 1:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m. Child Care is provided. August 12 - Challenged Support Group A parent support group offered through Challenged Family Resource Center. The group meets at St. John's Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. every second Tuesday of the Month. All parents with a child or children with a disability are invited to attend. August 16 - August 16, 2008 Murder at Castaway Cove This murder mystery getaway will start on Saturday evening at the Ramada - Mission de Oro and end Sunday morning. It includes a Welcome cocktail party around the pool, dinner, participation in murder mystery, overnight accommodations and a hot breakfast Sunday morning. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in tropical attire and be prepared to have a lot of fun. Cost is $129.95 per person inclusive. For more information contact Rhonda Lowe at 1-209-826-4444.

Hall at 1155 I Street The fun starts at 5:45 PM and . with dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. Auction tables begin closing at at 7:15 p.m. Guests are welcome, patriotic attire is suggested and the cost is 5 dollars.
