Park Day! Every Wednesday - 10 AM - Mothers and children of all ages meet in the park to chat and let their kids play. Children of all ages are welcome from infant to seventeen. Click here for more information.

Calendar Events:

May 29 - June 2 - May 29 - June 2 - Attend a free movement workshop and make a movement choir. A movement choir is a cance made by the community; simple and fun gestrues and movements are created by the participating individuals. The movements reflect the participant' personal, civic, and spiritual identities. Visiting dance artists will help create the movement choirs. Ages 8 - 108 are welcome to participate. Drop by the Ted Falasco Arts Center during the workshop times and tell your story about living in Los Banos. It will be recored and added to a film made about the project. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can move in.
You do not need to attend all days. Please feel free to drop in on any day.

10 a.m.-12 p.m. Kids groups (ages 3-10)
2-4 Open studio time - participants free to stop by and get more info, give an oral history for the camera, work on an art project, practice with their group, etc.
4-7 p.m. Youth groups (ages 10-18)
4-5 Visual/digital art projects
5-7 Movement workships
6-8 p.m. Adult groups (ages 18 +): Movement workshops and visual art projects

On Thursday from 3-6 p.m. there will be a special event for youth groups - a talk about preparig for college/univeristy life and what it means to be an artist. Dinner is provided.

On Saturday there will be a performance in the parking lot of Arteaga's Market at 8 p.m. and a community potluck at Ted Falasco Arts Center.

June 1-3 - D. E. S. Festa: a celebration held in honor of the Holy Spirit begun by Queen Isabel of Portugal.

Friday the 1st: Bullfight at the Fairgrounds. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the bullfights begin at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday: Tthere will be a rosary at the D.E.S Chapel at 7:30 p.m. After the rosary there will be dancing by Chico Avila at 9 p.m.

Sunday: There will be a procession where representatives from other Portuguese organizations and saints will be carried from the D.E.S Hall to St. Josephs Church. Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. After the Mass there will be a return procession back the D.E.S. Hall where sopas (a Portuguese meal of long-cooked beef with cabbage with the sauce poured over french bread) will be served followed by an auction at 1:30 p.m. The Celebration will end with a rosary at 7 p.m. followed by sopas at 7:30 and dancing by Progresso at 9 p.m.

June 2-3 - Relay for Life will be taking place, once again, at Loftin Stadium on June 2 & 3rd. Anyone interested in participating, making a donation, wanting a luminary, please contact DJ either by email: djbarcellos@hotmail.com (RFL) or @ 587.1605 for further information Relay for Life is a wonderful way to take a stand against Cancer, raise money to support, visit with old friends and make new.

June 2 - Vaccination Clinic for Pets at the Los Banos Veterinary Clinic

June 2 - All you can eat Crab Feed put on by the First Baptist Church for Project Jabez. The dinner will be at the United Methodist Church, 1031 Iowa St. at 6 p.m. Prices (donations) for the crab feed are as follows: 18 + $35.00, 12-17 $12.00 and 6-11 $6.00. Besides crab there will be various side dishes and water. Sodas and desserts will be available for an additional charge. There will be drawings, silent auctions, entertainment, door prizes and more.

June 3 - Methodist Variety Show at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of the United Methodist Church on Iowa Street. There will be a special concert of contemporary and traditional Christian music. Call 826-4181 for more info.

June 4 - Swimming Session I begins and ends June 14. Please call the Los Banos Recreation Office for more information: 827-7034.

June 4 - SUMMER FUN CAMP Create childhood memories that will last a lifetime! Participants will enjoy a diverse array of experiences based around a new theme each session. Kids will make new friends, learn new games, and make craft projects. Summer Fun Camp helps develop skills, builds confidence, and provides a safe, supervised environment for kids. All children from kindergarten through those entering sixth grade are able to join the program. During the summer there will be swimming, field trips, and other fun activities. Camp headquarters is located at the Germino Building in the Fair Grounds. Recreation staff will provide two snacks daily (morning and afternoon), however participants will need to bring a lunch daily.
-Full Day Session Fee- $175.00 (includes field trip)
-Half Day Session Fee- $125.00 (5 hours or less)
-Full Day- $25.00
-Half Day- $20.00 (5 hours or less)
-Field Trip- $35.00 Ages: 5-12 years - Times: 7:30 am - 6:30 pm

June 6 - The first Wednesday of each month is the regular dinner meeting night of the Los Banos Sportsmen’s Association. Guests are welcome.

June 6 - RDA & Council Meeting at City Hall, 7:00 pm

June 7 - Men's Community Prayer Group. Men from different congregations meet each 1st Thursday of the month. All are welcome and the meeting is non-denominational. You can join them at City Hall (520 J St.) from noon to 1 p.m. For more info. call Brenda Smith or Steve Hammond at 827-0797.

June 9 - The Goldent State Gunslingers will be at Henry Miller Plaza holding a "gunslinger alley" where the public can try the sport of fast draw. You get 10 shots for $5.00.

June 9 - AMP Top Gun Motocross at the Los Banos Fairgrounds. Gates open sat 12pm and practice starts at 2:30pm with racing approx at 4:00pm.

June 13- Los Banos Tigers Trap Team Parent's Club Meetings 6:30 PM at LB Sportsmens facility on Mercey Springs Rd. If your child is participating or wants to...these meetings are important to attend! Kids pratice every Monday night at the trap range on Mercey Springs -if anyone's interested in observing before commiting to the team. Due to the large growth in team membership from the last years, parent participation is really needed!! This is a family-oriented, co-ed, scholastic sport.

June 13 - The Elks will be putting on their Annual Flag Day celebration at the Los Banos City Hall, on Wednesday, June 13 at 6:00 PM.

June 16 - Pacheco State Park Family Kite Day - call Jennifer 209-826-1196 ext. 222 for more info. Everyone who flies a kite will receive a souvenir button and there will be free face painting and nature tables. There will be a hot dog vendor. The cost is $5.00 per car.

June 19 - The chamber will hold their annual installation of officers and directors starting with a social at 6:00 pm with dinner set for 6:30 pm. Cost for the dinner will be $12.00 per person and will require reservations and payment by June 15th at noon at the chamber office. A notice and invitation will be in the mail to members and friends by May 15th. In addition to the installation, the chamber will be honoring two individuals and one business with an award for their service. One award will be for the Business Person of the Year and one award will be for the Business of the Year. The third award will be the annual Wilma Keokuk award for the Chamber Volunteer of the Year.

June 19 - Airport Commission Meeting at City Hall, 5:00 p.m.

June 19 - Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting at City Hall, 6:30 p.m.

June 20 - RDA & Council Meeting at City Hall, 7:00 p.m.

June 21 - Chamber mixer at Los Banos Fitness & Racquet Club 5:30 -7 p.m.

June 21 - Golden Agers dinner will be held at 7 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. Steak, veggies, salad, a roll and dessert will cost $9.00 for members. Purchase tickets at the Miller and Lux building.

June 22 - Blood donation drive at Toscano RV (646 W. Pacheco) from 8 a.m. to noon. Donors will receive discounts from a variety of businesses.

June 23 - Art Madness Activity for girls will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the scout hut in Pacheco Park. Registered Girl Scounts pay $3 for the activity and non-Girl Scouts pay $13. Girls attending should wear old clothes/shoes.

June 23 - Pediatrics First Aid and CPR class. Call 826-0591 ext. 207.

June 23-24 - Amateur Radio Club annual "Field Day" at Pacheco Park beginning at noon. For more info. contact Michael Germino at 826-0903.

June 23 - 49er Cheerleading Rumage Sale at Wilmont Self Storage at 8 a.m. down off Willmont st. There will be lots of signs. Come out help support the Los Banos 49er Cheerleaders.

June 24-28 - Quail Unlimited Hunter Education Covey Camp at Stillbow Ranch, Dos Palos, CA. Click here for more information.

June 30 - Ham (amateur radio field day) - The public is invited to comedown to Pacheco Park to meet with and see the Ham operations at this special annual event.

June 30 - Victory Outreach will be hosting a car show and anti-gang/drug rally on June 30th. Event to be held at; Pacheco Park from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Parent Talk a support group for parents of children with every kind of disability meets every second Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 250 West Adams from 1:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m. Child Care is provided.
