Park Day! Every Wednesday - 10 AM - Mothers and children of all ages meet in the park to chat and let their kids play. Children of all ages are welcome from infant to seventeen. Click here for more information.

Calendar Events:

July 2 - - SUMMER FUN CAMP Create childhood memories that will last a lifetime! Participants will enjoy a diverse array of experiences based around a new theme each session. Kids will make new friends, learn new games, and make craft projects. Summer Fun Camp helps develop skills, builds confidence, and provides a safe, supervised environment for kids. All children from kindergarten through those entering sixth grade are able to join the program. During the summer there will be swimming, field trips, and other fun activities. Camp headquarters is located at the Germino Building in the Fair Grounds. Recreation staff will provide two snacks daily (morning and afternoon), however participants will need to bring a lunch daily.
-Full Day Session Fee- $175.00 (includes field trip)
-Half Day Session Fee- $125.00 (5 hours or less)
-Full Day- $25.00 -Half Day- $20.00 (5 hours or less)
-Field Trip- $35.00 Ages: 5-12 years - Times: 7:30 am - 6:30 pm

July 2 - the United Methodist Church is once again putting on the local VBC for our community. The registration price is $17.00 per child if you register before June 1st and after that, it's an additional $5.00 per child. The dates for VBS is the first week of July (July 2 - . YES, they do have VBS ON a the Fourth of July). The time is: 9:00 am to 12:30 p.m.
Ages: 4 yrs to 10 yrs (note: must be 4 yrs before Aug 1). You can pick up a registration form at the church office (they have them on the outside of the door).

July 4 - 4th of July at the Fairgrounds starts at 4 p.m. Call 209-826-2495 for more info.

July 4 - 2007 Little Miss & Mr. " Firecracker " Contest at the Los Banos Fairgrounds "4th of July Centennial Celebration" 5:00 pm (be there by 4:30). Boys & Girls from 3-9 years old. Division Winners will be broken up by age groups: Tiny Miss Firecracker, Petite Miss Firecracker, Little Miss Firecracker, and Little Mr. Firecracker . Talent Winner (optional) will be crowned, as well as Outstanding Special Awards. One contestant with the highest overall points will be crowned Miss or Mr. Centennial! (entries are limited ~ first come, first serve) Win Crowns, Prizes, Toys, and Gifts Only $20 to enter ~ No one goes home empty-handed! Wear your best Red, White & Blue playclothes! No fancy dress clothes please, we want the kids to look like kids!! July 5 - RDA & Council Meeting, 7 p.m. at City Hall.

July 5 - Men's Community Prayer Group. Men from different congregations meet each 1st Thursday of the month. All are welcome and the meeting is non-denominational. You can join them at City Hall (520 J St.) from noon to 1 p.m. For more info. call Brenda Smith or Steve Hammond at 827-0797.

July 5 - Golden Valley HOG General Meetings are held 7 pm on the First Thursday of every month at the Elks Club. 565 E St. open to public. Membership information Contact: Claudia Hernadez @ 209-617-3595 or email cjswimn@yahoo.com

July 7 - Vaccination Clinic for Pets at the Los Banos Veterinary Clinic

July 7 - Golden Valley Harley Davidson on Pacheco Blvd is doing the fireworks again this year. There will be all kinds of stuff happening at the shop and the fireworks start at 8:30.

July 7 - AMP Top Gun Motocross at the Los Banos Fairgrounds. Gates open sat 12pm and practice starts at 2:30pm with racing approx at 4:00pm.

July 9 - Swimming Session III begins and ends July 19. Please call the Los Banos Recreation Office for more information: 827-7034.

July 9 - 14 - Missoula Children's Theater Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. For more info. call Jim Valentin 826-5181.

July 10- Parent Talk a support group for parents of children with every kind of disability meets every second Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 250 West Adams from 1:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m. Child Care is provided. This group is sponsored by Challenged Family Resource Center. For information you can contact Cheryl Nelson in Los Banos at 829-0568 or Challenged at 385-5314.

July 11- Los Banos Tigers Trap Team Parent's Club Meetings 6:30 PM at LB Sportsmens facility on Mercey Springs Rd. If your child is participating or wants to...these meetings are important to attend! Kids pratice every Monday night at the trap range on Mercey Springs -if anyone's interested in observing before commiting to the team. Due to the large growth in team membership from the last years, parent participation is really needed!! This is a family-oriented, co-ed, scholastic sport.

July 11 - Diabetic Support Group for adults at Memorial Hospital 600 I Street . 10:30 a.m. - Noon. Call 826-0591 ext. 356 or 270.

July 12 - LBUSD Board Meeting, City Hall, 7:00 p.m.

July 12 - Military Family Suppport Group meets at the Vagabond Inn at 7 p.m.
"We're here to lend a shoulder to lean on. We send out care packages to those still deployed. We also maintain the Yellow Ribbons in the park. Please join us."

July 13 - CPR BLS Healthcare Provider Certification or Renewal
This class is offered to health care professionals in the Los Banos area. Learn the basics of CPR through this hands-on course. When: Certification class is held on the second Friday of every month, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Call 826-0591 Ext. 270 to register. Cost $25.00

July 14 - Movie Night in the Plaza– Pick movies on the web site www.losbanos.org, Call Megan for more info– 827-7034 ext. 16.

July 14 - Movie night will also include a battle of the bands starting at 1:00 p.m. Eight bands, 15 minutes each, then performances by Eliott & Emily Whitehurst (45 minutes each).

Battle of The Bands Schedule / Details:

1:00 pm To 6:00 pm - Battle of the Bands Begins 15 minutes per band 15 to 20 minutes per band for set up and breakdown (any other bands added to list the event must start earlier)

6:00 pm To 7:30 pm - Eliott Whitehurst– Furlong Emily Whitehurst– The Action Design 45 minutes each 30 minutes in between set-up and breakdown

8:50 pm To 10:30 pm - Movie “Open Season” begins

July 14 - Gunslinger Alley at Henry Miller Square starting at 1 p.m.

July 14 - AMP Top Gun Motocross at the Los Banos Fairgrounds. Gates open sat 12pm and practice starts at 2:30pm with racing approx at 4:00 p.m.

July 15 - As part of our Centennial Weekends , on Sunday, July 15, we will open the Miller and Lux Building for a Tea Dance.  We will start at 2 p.m. and run until 5.  Tom Faria will be joined by Colin Tamburri on trumpet and Ron Bertao on Drums.  We will be playing old standards like Satin Doll and Spanish Eyes, along with some Elvis and old country.  In case the temperature rises above 105, and the Miller and Lux Center has to be used as a cooling center, we will reschedule the event.    If you have any questions, please contact Tom Faria via City Hall.

July 21 - The Potter's House Christian church will host a Party at the Park with live music, drama, food and cold drinks at 5 p.m., Saturday, at Pacheco Park, Seventh Street and Pacheco Boulevard. The following day evangelist and former boxing champ Mark Sala will hold a week-long service from July 22-26. Sunday service will be held at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday-Thursday services will be held at 7:30 p.m. inside Premiere Cinemas Plaza, 265 N. Mercey Springs Rd.

July 23 - Swimming Session IV begins and ends August 3. Please call the Los Banos Recreation Office for more information: 827-7034.

July 23 - Evangelist and former boxing champ Mark Sala will hold a week-long service from July 22-26. Sunday service will be held at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday-Thursday services will be held at 7:30 p.m. inside Premiere Cinemas Plaza, 265 N. Mercey Springs Rd.

July 23 - Quilting Class through the United Methodist Church at Country Waffles on Pacheco Blvd., 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

There is a senior and disabled persons lunch from noon to 1 p.m. at McArthur Apartments, 1130 F St.
Food costs $2 and you don't have to worry about the cleanup!

Mom's Club meets every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Meadowlands 3 Park (winter and spring) and Presidential Estates Park (summer).

Seniors' bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Miller & Lux building, 830 Sixth St.

Tai Chi is offered at the library (7th Street) at 10 a.m.

Alcoholics Anonymous Serenity at Noon Group meets Mondays through Fridays in the recreation hall at 903 Pacheco Blvd. from noon to 1 p.m.
They also meet on Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m.

Narcotics Anonymous meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Greyhound Bus Depot, 820 G St.

Victory Outreach 12-Step Substance abuse group meets every Monday 7:30 p.m. at 1231 Fourth St. in the rear building.
