Park Day! Every Wednesday - 10 AM - Mothers and children of all ages meet in the park to chat and let their kids play. Children of all ages are welcome from infant to seventeen. Click here for more information.

Jan 2 - At 1:30 p.m. the Golden Agers Club meets at the Miller Lux Building. Call 826-5257 or 827-7046.

Jan 3 - The first Wednesday of each month is the regular dinner meeting night of the Los Banos Sportsmen’s Association. Guests are welcome. The bar opens at 6:30. Dinner is at 7:30 - $15.00 for members; $20.00 for guests. Click here for a map.

Jan 3 - Free childbirth preparation class begins. Classes are held for 6 weeks on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Please call (209)826-0591 for more detailed class information or to register.

Jan 3 - Council Meeting

Jan 3 - O.L.F. 4-H Club Meeting at 6:00 PM at 1621 Center Ave. (St. Joseph Parish Hall). Call Linda at 826-9461 or Donna at 826-2022 if you have any questions.

Jan 4 - Golden Valley HOG General Meetings are held 7 pm on the First Thursday of every month at the Elks Club. 565 E St. open to public. Membership information Contact: Claudia Hernadez @ 209-617-3595 or email cjswimn@yahoo.com

Jan 4 - Men's Community Prayer Group. Men from different congregations meet each 1st Thursday of the month. All are welcome and the meeting is non-denominational. You can join them at City Hall (520 J St.) from noon to 1 p.m. For more info. call Brenda Smith or Steve Hammond at 827-0797.

Jan. 4 - A blood drive will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1826 South Center Ave.) from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by members of Our Lady of Fatima 4-H.

Jan 4 - Golden Valley HOG General Meetings are held 7 pm on the First Thursday of every month at the Elks Club.

Jan. 10 - Los Banos Tigers Trap Team Parent's Club Meetings 6:30 PM at LB Sportsmens facility on Mercey Springs Rd. If your child is participating or wants to...these meetings are important to attend! Kids pratice every Monday night at the trap range on Mercey Springs -if anyone's interested in observing before commiting to the team. Due to the large growth in team membership from the last years, parent participation is really needed!! This is a family-oriented, co-ed, scholastic sport.

Jan 11 - School Board Meeting

Jan. 11 - Military Family Suppport Group meets at the Vagabond Inn at 7 p.m.
"We're here to lend a shoulder to lean on. We send out care packages to those still deployed. We also maintain the Yellow Ribbons in the park. Please join us."

Jan 13 - SBSS (South Bay Soaring Society) Aero-Tow at the Los Banos Creek Reservoir. From I-5, East on 152, Right on Volta Rd. follow the signs to the reservoir, turn left at the first gate (Rim Dr.) There is a day use fee.

Jan 13 - Soroptimist recycling day at the airport.

Jan 15 - The Kente Women's Club will be celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day at 10:30 a.m. with a march and rally beginning at City Hall.

Jan 15 - An audition will be held for Missoula Children's Theatre's adaptation of "The Little Mermaid," from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Ted Falasco Arts Center. Children auditioning should arrive at 3:30 p.m. and plan to stay the full two hours. Students kindergarten through 12th-grade are encouraged to audition. Rehearsals will be Monday through Friday for 4 1/2 hours. For more information call Mary Harris, 826-9095.

Jan 17 - City Council meeting at City Hall

Jan 17 - See's Valentine Candy is currently available at Pearson's Jeweler's and the Los Banos Flower Shop. Stop by and visit these gracious retailers today while shopping for that someone special! This is brought to you by Soroptimist International of Los Banos. A local business women's organization for the betterment of women and girls through-out your local community and the world.

Jan 20 - Youth Basketball begins- January 20, 2007 Games played at the High School Gym. Call the Recreation Department for more information-827-7034.

Jan 20 - Food, Fun, and Guns Banquet put on by the Los Banos Sportsmen. Dinner tickets are $50 per person and begins at 6 p.m. featuring steak and scampi. There will also be some raffles.

Jan 20 - 21 - Audubon Society Weekend Trip
Event: Los Banos Refuges and Panoche Valley

Location: Los Banos Refuges and Panoche Valley - Weekend Trip
Date/Time: Saturday and Sunday January 20 & 21, 2007 9:00 AM till dark
Description: Winter is a really great time of year to visit the central valley. Waterfowl are abundant. We will be on the lookout for White-faced Ibis, Sandhill Cranes, and a large variety of waterfowl, geese, shorebirds, ducks, raptors and owls. Bring fluids, binoculars, scopes if you have them, cameras and lots of birding energy! Come for one day only, or both days. Day one will be at the Los Banos Area Refuges, Day 2 will be in Panoche Valley area.

Jan 22 - Crab Feed at the Los Banos Elk's Lodge. $35.00 per person, ALL YOU CAN EAT! w/Clam Linguini and wine at the table. Dinner is at 7:00PM. Bar will be open at 6:00PM. For Tickets contact: Norm Donovan @ 827.0691.

Jan 25 - Chamber mixer at Los Banos Enterprise, 1253 I Street, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Jan 26 - The Los Banos High School Band Parent Foundation have scheduled a bingo night at the Miller Lux Building at 6:00 pm. Hope to see everyone there supporting our High School Band. There will be hot dogs, chips, soda, and lots of desserts.

Jan 27 - "29th Annual benefit dinner" by the local branch of the Italian Catholic Federation.
Location: D.E.S. Hall
Time: 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
The meal consists of Polenta, 1/2 BBQ chicken, tossed green salad, bun, butter, wine, coffee and homemade cake.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12 years. Call 209-826-5663, 826-5872 or 826-4103 for more info. Take-outs available from 4:30 to 6 p.m. only.

Jan 27 - Golden Valley Harley Owners Group will be having a Rummage Sale
Time : 7am to ?
Place: 888 4th Street ( corner 4th & I) Universal Plumbing Parking Lot
Proceeds of sale will be used to send New Officers to Primary Officer Training.
Donations can be dropped of at Universal Plumbing between the hours of 8am - 11am &
1pm - 5pm, Monday through Friday.

There is a senior and disabled persons lunch from noon to 1 p.m. at McArthur Apartments, 1130 F St.
Food costs $2 and you don't have to worry about the cleanup!

Tuesdays:

Park Day! Every Wednesday

Free breastfeeding support group. 1 PM at the education center in Memorial Hospital. Meet with other moms and measure your baby's progress.

Thursdays:
Al-Anon/Alateen Family Groups meet at 7 p.m. in Suite D of the Pinnacle Health Care building, 285 Mercey Springs Road. Call Mary at 826-6880 for more information.

TOPS club meets at 10 a.m. at the MHLB Education Center on Texas Street (across from Memorial Hospital). Weigh-in is at 9:30 a.m.

Mom's Club meets every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Meadowlands 3 Park (winter and spring) and Presidential Estates Park (summer).

Sundays:
Food Addicts Meeting from 8-9:30 a.m. at the Memorial Hospital Education Center

Manna Ministries invites anyone who is lonely, hungry, needy or just wants company to have a free, hot meal at 5 p.m. Please join them at the United Methodist Church. For more info. call 826-4642 (Claire Jensen)or 826-1992 (Laree Rogers).

AA Meetings:
Alcoholics Anonymous meets at the Miller and Lux Building, 830 Sixth St.
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Los Banos Recreation Hall in Pacheco Park
Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m.
Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m.

Alcoholics Anonymous Serenity at Noon Group meets Mondays through Fridays in the recreation hall at 903 Pacheco Blvd. from noon to 1 p.m.
They also meet on Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m.

Narcotics Anonymous meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Greyhound Bus Depot, 820 G St.

Victory Outreach 12-Step Substance abuse group meets every Monday 7:30 p.m. at 1231 Fourth St. in the rear building.
