Park Day! Every Wednesday - 10 AM - Mothers and children of all ages meet in the park to chat and let their kids play. Children of all ages are welcome from infant to seventeen. Click here for more information.

August 1 - RDA & Council Meeting at City Hall, 7:00 p.m.

August 1- The first Wednesday of each month is the regular dinner meeting night of the Los Banos Sportsmen’s Association. Guests are welcome.

August 2 - American Heart Association Walk team leader kick-off from 5:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Fire Dept., 333 7th Street. For more info call 209-723-2974.

August 2 - Men's Community Prayer Group. Men from different congregations meet each 1st Thursday of the month. All are welcome and the meeting is non-denominational. You can join them at City Hall (520 J St.) from noon to 1 p.m. For more info. call Brenda Smith or Steve Hammond at 827-0797.

August 2 - Golden Valley HOG General Meetings are held 7 pm on the First Thursday of every month at the Elks Club. 565 E St. open to public. Membership information Contact: Claudia Hernadez @ 209-617-3595 or email cjswimn@yahoo.com

August 3 - BINGO at the Miller Lux Building at 6:00 p.m. Doors open at 5:30. Come enjoy some inside COOL fun. Bring your friends and family. Lets fill all the seats and support the high school band.

August 4 - Vaccination Clinic for Pets at the Los Banos Veterinary Clinic

9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

August 6 - Elks' Pasta Night at the Los Banos Elks Lodge, 565 E St. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and is all you can eat from three types of pasta. For more info. call Ray Gomes at 826-4196.

August 6 - Quilting Class through the United Methodist Church at Country Waffles on Pacheco Blvd., 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

August 7 - Golden Agers Club meets at 1 p.m. at the Miller Lux Building. Golden Agers is for people 50 years and older. Members participate in trips, dinners and more. For more info call 827-7046 or 826-5257.

August 8 - Community Resource Council Meeting at the Police Annex, 9:00 a.m.

August 8 - Planning Commission Meeting at City Hall, 7:00 p.m.

August 8 - Neighborhood Watch Meeting at the Police Annex, 7:00 p.m.

August 8- Los Banos Tigers Trap Team Parent's Club Meetings 6:30 PM at LB Sportsmens facility on Mercey Springs Rd. If your child is participating or wants to...these meetings are important to attend! Kids pratice every Monday night at the trap range on Mercey Springs -if anyone's interested in observing before commiting to the team. Due to the large growth in team membership from the last years, parent participation is really needed!! This is a family-oriented, co-ed, scholastic sport.

August 8 - Diabetic Support Group for adults at Memorial Hospital 600 I Street . 10:30 a.m. - Noon. Call 826-0591 ext. 356 or 270.

August 9 - La Leche League Meeting (breastfeeding support and information) will meet from 10 a.m. until noon at Calvary Baptist Church. For more information call 826-6735.

August 9 - Military Family Suppport Group meets at the Vagabond Inn at 7 p.m.
"We're here to lend a shoulder to lean on. We send out care packages to those still deployed. We also maintain the Yellow Ribbons in the park. Please join us."

August 9 - LBUSD Board Meeting at City Hall, 7:00 p.m.

August 10 - CPR BLS Healthcare Provider Certification or Renewal
This class is offered to health care professionals in the Los Banos area. Learn the basics of CPR through this hands-on course. When Certification class is held on the second Friday of every month, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Call 826-0591 Ext. 270 to register. Cost $25.00

August 11 - Centennial Car Show held downtown at Henry Miller Plaza, 3:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Call 209-826-2495 for more info.
Dash plaques for the first 100 entries, entry fee is $10. Show cars, trucks and motorcycles only, no junk. Cars for sale must be entered, fee paid and match a category. Entrants will be our judges - a form will be provided at sign up. A plaque will go to each category winner + Best of Show. Food and drinks will be available.

August 11 - - Movie Night in the Plaza– Little Giants will be shown. Call Megan for more info– 827-7034 ext. 16. There will also be live music before the show!

August 11 - AMP Top Gun Motocross at the Los Banos Fairgrounds. Gates open sat 12pm and practice starts at 2:30pm with racing approx at 4:00 p.m.

August 11 - Run for Rose at Gardens Park V, beginning at 8 a.m. with check in and registration at 6:30 a.m. This walk is in honor of one of our community members, Rose, who passed away from leukemia in 2006. Donations will go towards fighting and researching leukemia.

August 11 - Car seat safety class at Memorial Hospital. For more info. call 826-0591.

August 12 - Tea Dance at the Miller and Lux Building starting at 2 p.m. and running until 5 p.m. Come and listen to old standards, some Elvis and old country!
Tom Faria will once again be joined by Ron Bertao and Colin Tamburri playing ballroom standards. There is no admission charged and all are invited.

August 13 - Quilting Class through the United Methodist Church at Country Waffles on Pacheco Blvd., 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

August 14 - Arts Council Meeting, 7 p.m.

August 17 - United Way Lunch to be held in Pacheco Park from 11:30 to 1:30. There will be tri trip sandwiches with beans and soda. Tickets are $8 and available at the chamber office. You can also call Linda White (988-3162) or Sandy Lemas (826-7241).

There is a senior and disabled persons lunch from noon to 1 p.m. at McArthur Apartments, 1130 F St.
Food costs $2 and you don't have to worry about the cleanup!

Mondays: Monday morning park day at College Greens Park, 10:30 am.

Tuesdays:
Kiwanas meet at Country Waffles, 12 noon. For more information call Chuck Martin, 826-2664.

The Rotary Club meets at Espanas at noon. For more information call Gene Leib at 826-3831.

Good of the order meeting at the Los Banos Elks Lodge, 545 6th Street. 7 p.m.

Park Day! Every Wednesday

Free breastfeeding support group. 1 PM at the education center in Memorial Hospital. Meet with other moms and measure your baby's progress.

Thursdays:
Al-Anon/Alateen Family Groups meet at 7 p.m. in Suite D of the Pinnacle Health Care building, 285 Mercey Springs Road. Call Mary at 826-6880 for more information.

Mom's Club meets every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Meadowlands 3 Park (winter and spring) and Presidential Estates Park (summer).

Wee Wigglers Storytime at the Los Banos Library on Seventh St. at 10 a.m.

Seniors' bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Miller & Lux building, 830 Sixth St.

Tai Chi is offered at the library (7th Street) at 10 a.m.

Fridays:
"Fridays at the Fairgrounds" at the Fairgrounds from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Admission is free.

AA Meetings:
Alcoholics Anonymous meets at the Miller and Lux Building, 830 Sixth St.
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Los Banos Recreation Hall in Pacheco Park
Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m.
Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m.

Alcoholics Anonymous Serenity at Noon Group meets Mondays through Fridays in the recreation hall at 903 Pacheco Blvd. from noon to 1 p.m.
They also meet on Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m.

Narcotics Anonymous meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Greyhound Bus Depot, 820 G St.

Victory Outreach 12-Step Substance abuse group meets every Monday 7:30 p.m. at 1231 Fourth St. in the rear building.
